BACK PACKING TRIP LEADERS.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION INSTRUCTORS

POSITION: Outdoor Education Instructors

Through the outdoor medium, OE instructors teach and facilitate

personal responsibility, team building, decision making and problem

solving, leadership, camping and camp-craft, map reading and

navigation, expedition behavior, health, hygiene and self care in the

outdoors, the importance of reflection time, natural and cultural

history, environmental education, hazard and risk management, group

processing and communication, equipment/clothing selection and use,

and minimum impact ethics. Instructors are hired on a temporary, part-

time contractual basis.

INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS:

�Instructors must have current WFR and CPR certification. �Applicants must have and maintain a clean driving record, have a current driver's license, and be a minimum age of 21 to drive vehicles.

�Instructors employed are highly competent leaders, patient and

inspiring teachers, and skilled outdoor enthusiasts of sound and

prudent judgment.

�Applicants should have quality experience teaching in a variety of

settings, such as the outdoor environment, in particular in areas in

which the course is operating, experience teaching prior COE courses,

and teaching in a classroom setting, ideally with students in grades

7-12.

Applicants should have experience to recognize and act on

appropriate and inappropriate student behavior. The ability to manage

participants and instructor-to-participants relationships, in order

to help participants develop and grow, both on course, and transference

skills to apply learning back at real life. This includes the

ability to give feedback, and deal positively with conflict and stress. Applicants should have the technical skills necessary to travel

safely in the course areas used, and in particular activities taught

on course, the ability to teach these skills to participants, and good

risk management skills applicable to institutional settings, while

also developing the whole participants.

Applicants should be positive environmental role models with sound

knowledge of natural history of the particular course area

environments used.

INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

All instructors are responsible for maintaining and updating the

program with all required certification, such as Wilderness First

Responder and CPR certificates.

All courses begin with a one to four day pre-course orientation.

Orientations generally begin at 8:00 a.m. Instructors are to be

punctual and prepared and should have set aside personal business for

the duration of the orientation and course.

For each course instructors are to produce a written log detailing

the following: each day's activities, lessons, and camp locations;

all accidents, incidents, near misses, any first-aid administered,

course area information, and itinerary recommendations.

All instructors must read, know, and Nature Admire Outdoor

Education risk management policies and follow the written syllabus

for the course.

Instructors will make sure all Nature Admire equipment, including items rented or loaned to students, is returned at the end of the course. Instructors may be required to complete a written comment on each student that is in their group while out on a course.

Courses end with de-brief between instructor pairs or single

instructors or instructors as a group and the Director or the

Assistant Director or both. Instructors need to bring all applicable

paperwork, including a detailed course log, to turn-in at de-brief.

The course log will be reviewed; any risk management concerns,

accidents, behavioral incidents or near miss information is noted and

added to the course report. Instructors will complete a WRMC incident

report form for each incident. Instructor performance will be discussed. If mail is to be forwarded to Nature Admire during the course, instructors will advise the Director or Assistant Director. Nature Admire takes no responsibility for lost mail.

INSTRUCTOR COMPENSATION:

Pay level starts at Rs 1000-1800 per day, DOE. Preparation days are paid at 25% the day rate. The entire course is paid at the new level when an instructor's pay level changes during a course.

Instructors are covered by Worker's Compensation insurance while

contracted. Taxes are deducted from paychecks, as instructors are

temporary employees of the School.

Food is provided for preparation and course days, including a final

post-debrief meal.

Hotel accommodations provided before and after course, and during

the prep days, for courses that begin at Nature Admire. Camping

facilities are provided for instructors for courses that originate in

the field.

Professional deals on equipment are available. The program is committed to the training and development of instructors in the following areas; technical skills, risk management skills, instructional and teaching skills, including methods, models, group development and dynamics, individual behavior and motivation

and facilitation, leadership skills including judgment, decision

making and problem solving.

TRIP LEADERS

POSITION: Trip Leaders.

Nature Admire organizes day adventures in and around the city,We have a strong tripping program and are looking for trip leaders with good skills in at least one of our main activities to lead trips this Year. At this point we are especially looking for women and men over the age

of twenty to lead rock climbing, Hill climbing, Trekking and mountain biking trips (although,we definitely could still use a couple of men and women in each of our activity areas)

Our tripping program is really what makes our camp unique. While we

do have younger campers who spend a good bit of time learning basic

skills in camp, we have a large group of older campers (up to age 70)

who come back every year just to get out on trips. Our longest

session is 20 days in Himlayas, so we have time to get out on a lot of 1-6 day trips.

We're looking for people who get along well with kids and elders (ages 8 through 70) and have strong skills (strong enough to teach) in at least one activity. Our trip leaders must be WFR certified.

MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE

POSITION: Marketing Representative.

REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager

JOB OBJECTIVE: The marketing representative is responsible for

communicating a consistent and accurate message about Nature Admire

educational programs to media, faculty, staff, students, parents and

prospective students at colleges, schools and events.

This position is full time, of flexible duration and starts immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position is a very public one requiring

excellent professional communication skills and the ability to

connect with a wide variety of individuals. Strong organizational

skills, the ability to prioritize and problem solve are essential.

Extensive travel on the bus is required as well as the ability

to work in an autonomous manner away from the Nature Admire headquarters.

Superb "expedition behavior" is of the utmost importance. Experience

or willingness to learn the necessary computer applications and

equipment are necessary. Applicants must have a safe driving record,

and a Class B Commercial Drivers License with passenger and air brake

endorsements; or be eligible and willing to obtain the necessary

license.

LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Supervise Nature Admire clinics and

presentations during recruiting events. This can involve controlling

significant crowds.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Travel to recruitment activities nationwide and represent Nature Admire to

diverse audiences.

- Perform Nature Admire clinics and presentations using guidelines approved by the marketing manager.

- Perform print and broadcast media interviews.

- Communicate daily with the marketing manager.

- Publish daily entry to on-line journal and upload photos for gallery.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: A criminal background check is required

from all Nature Admire employees.
